Call the number before you buy anything. That is the test, and it is the one no amount of copywriting can fake: a person picks up, and it is someone who can answer for the watch. Every complaint is acknowledged within forty eight hours and resolved within one month, in line with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, as stated on the legal page, which is where it is enforceable.
02 · Where the watch comes from
Named parts, a named inspection, and nothing in between
A Japanese Seiko Epson movement, backed twenty four months from delivery, in a case made and finished by hand in India, then opened, checked and closed again before it is boxed.
Every one of the twenty is inspected by KAAL before it ships. No order is passed to a third party warehouse or a supplier to fulfil, and nothing is dispatched that KAAL has not physically had in hand.
The movement is the test of this, which is why it has a page of its own. A brand that buys finished watches sight unseen and forwards the parcels cannot tell you whose movement is inside, because it does not know. It says "quartz movement" and moves on. Naming the supplier is a claim that can be checked against the watch in your hand within seven days, at no cost to you, which is precisely why it is worth making.
Sold direct, and only direct. There is no marketplace listing, no reseller, no authorised dealer and no third party seller. A KAAL watch offered anywhere other than thekaal.co did not come from us.
03 · Who takes the money
Razorpay takes it. We never see it
Payment is collected by Razorpay, an RBI authorised payment aggregator. Card, UPI and net banking credentials go directly to Razorpay and are never seen, handled or stored by KAAL. We receive your name, email, postal address, telephone number and the number you chose. That is the whole list.
What that means in practice: your payment sits inside a regulated system with its own dispute process, independent of anything KAAL does or fails to do. The price shown at checkout is the price payable: delivery within India is included and there is nothing added afterwards. The full privacy and payment terms are on the legal page.

The gaps, stated by us rather than found by you
Two things a careful buyer would look for on this site are not on it. Here they are, named, with the reason.
The registered address is on request, not printed
KAAL works from a private address rather than a shopfront, so there is nothing on a map to point you at. The address itself goes to any buyer or prospective buyer who asks at connect@thekaal.co, before you pay, not after. We would rather tell you the omission is deliberate than let you find it and wonder.
There are no social accounts yet
No Instagram, no YouTube, no listing anywhere. There is one website, one email address and one telephone number, and everything the brand has said is on the four pages of this site. Accounts will exist; they do not yet, and a row of empty profiles would have been easy to create and would have proved nothing.
Neither gap is an argument for buying. They are here because the alternative, saying nothing and hoping, is what we would be doing if we had something to hide. Twenty watches is a small enough number to sell to twenty people who checked.

Who is behind KAAL?

Where is KAAL based?
India. KAAL designs and sells from India and ships within India only. The registered address is given on request at connect@thekaal.co.
Where does a KAAL order ship from?
From India, dispatched by KAAL itself. Every piece is opened, inspected and closed again by KAAL before it is packed, and no order is forwarded to a third party warehouse or a supplier to fulfil. Five working days, order to door, anywhere in India.
Is KAAL sold anywhere other than thekaal.co?
No. KAAL is sold only at thekaal.co: no marketplace, no reseller, no authorised dealer and no third party seller. A KAAL watch offered anywhere else did not come from KAAL.
Who takes the payment, and does KAAL see my card details?

Because Series 01 is still open, and the first reviews will come from the people who own one of the twenty. They will be published unedited, with the owner's number beside them.
Can I speak to a person before I buy?
Yes. Write to connect@thekaal.co or call +91 93114 16678 before ordering. The same person answers before and after a sale.
What happens if I do not like the watch?
Seven days from delivery. Return it unworn and unmarked, with its box and papers, and KAAL refunds it in full to the original payment method within seven working days of the piece arriving back. No reason is required. KAAL does not accept a future order from a buyer who returns a piece.
